Ultimate Portion Fix – Let’s get to know it!

Allrighty … When I initially heard that Ultimate Portion Fix(UPF) was coming out I was thinking – WHY????  What could you possibly add to 21 Day Fix to make UPF worth the purchase. Well …. the easy answer is A LOT!  I always enjoy learning about healthy eating and knowing what’s best for energizing and fueling my body so of course I subscribed to the program and dug in …  slowly at first but I am a believer now.

37 videos with tons of information!

When I got 21 Day fix 5 years ago, I of course read the little book that come with it and absorbed as much as I could. Something that I also loved were the 21 Day Fix videos that Autumn posted on YouTube in the months after the program release to supplement the information she provided in the program.

I love that with the new Ultimate Portion Fix we now have videos with information in addition to the three books that come with the program. Understanding how my food choices affect our appetite and energy really empowers me to make healthy choices.

Vegan/Vegetarian plan

When 21 Day fix first came out there wasn’t an Vegan / Vegetarian plan but it seems that the information was in such high demand that Autumn created videos for it several months later. Now I am excited that there is an official plan for vegans. The food lists are different for proteins (red), veggies (green) and there are two types of carbs (whole grains and starches).

Carb Cycling Plan

21 Day Fix has the 3 Day Quick fix plan that helps you lose weight for a special event. It was super effective to use it in the last 3 days of 21 Day Fix. Now UPF has taken that one step further to a carb cycling plan with specific portions for carb depletion and a calendar to show you when to carb deplete and when to go back to the regular plan.  Again, this plan is for special events only and can be done for 21 Days at most.

Timed Nutrition

I followed timed nutrition when I did 80 Day Obsession last year but honestly I didn’t love it. I love to cook and have my favorites recipes and food combinations and I didn’t like an eating program telling which foods to eat and when. However I know tons of people love timed nutrition and find it super easy to follow. UPF definitely supports this and provides detailed information on it.

Family Fix

My kids are both adults and have outgrown the need for this plan so I will not be able to try this with my family but I do LOVE learning how this works. Autumn breaks down how to determine the level of activity of your child so you can choose the right plan. She also provides the portions for those different levels of activity and for age ranges. I kinda wish I were still a kid when I see how many carbs (yellow) and fruits (purple) little ones get to eat in this plan. Perfect for growing bodies. In addition to the new cookbook, you will get 75 healthy lunch ideas for kids in PDF form.

Note also that UPF has calculations pregnant and breastfeeding moms.

FIXATE 2

For 21 Day Fix, the cookbook came out a year or two later but this time around Fixate 2 is part of the Ultimate Fix program. You get a cookbook and videos (over 200).  Who doesn’t love watching cooking videos??? New 21 Day Fix and Extreme workouts

You know how you had 8 different workouts in those ‘ol 21 Day Fix DVDs? Well, welcome to the world of On-Demand. Now, no two workouts are the same in a 21 Day cycle.  Say hello to 48 new videos (Yes new core workouts each week too!)

Portions for All

The portion plan used to be very tied to the 21 Day Fix program but with Ultimate Portion Fix, you are given instructions on how to use it with any Beachbody program, no fitness program or your own program. It’s all in the calculations really. This information is not proprietary to UPF . If you already have the 21 Day fix program, let me know if you need help choosing the right one to follow.
